This is no rivet counting exercise, It is the stuff that changes "Toys" into Scale Models,
Perhaps someone could ask "ABER" their source?
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

Here we are chaps, some more research!

Ausf G - Israel - This one looks like the diamond tread pattern! Different from the next 3.

Who'd have guessed the pattern was underneath as well? The question is, are they indentations of the top pattern, or the same on bottom as on top?

I saw the same pattern in APG on both StuG and Pz III
I call it dimple plate .
And trust me, those tanks had ZERO restoration on them !!

StuG in the Littlefield collectionnalso had the dimple plate, restored yes but all his gear was meticulously restored and researched .

Eastern Front wrote:Yes I am looking through my B&W photos, but dammit, most were photos of the front, back of side, no real shots of the decks, but I am looking!!

Cheers!
Bet you can't find any pattern on the front and rear fenders either.
Which in my mind shows that "restorations" that have the patterns on the fenders are incorrect.
