Dimensions of 1/16 jagdpanther tracks
In preparation for the design of the 1/6 Universal Carrier suspension/wheels I urgently need some dimensions of standard 1/16 jagdpanther track in mms, particularly
width between spurs - needed for the width of the UC wheel
width of track - needed to work out the offset of the wheel from the side of the chassis
Ideally I am looking for the dimensions of the Heng Long plastic track but it should be the same for the metal versions.
Many thanks
Alwyn

Re: Dimensions of 1/16 jagdpanther tracks
Inside of the root of the guide horns - 12.2mm
Track width- 42mm
Guide horns are even from both edges of the track.
I have checked a set of Taigen metal, a set of H/L plastic off a tank, and a set of H/L plastic on a tank.
H/L plastic were 42 and 41mm wide respectively !
Your mileage may vary

Adam thanks for the offer but it's the 1/16 scale track size I have to work to. Now if you had the dimensions of the actual Universal Carrier wheel that would be truly fantastic.

Sorry, haven't got any useful dimensions, but have eight random pictures, I hope they're useful.

Thanks for that, all pics and information are very useful in a scratch build.

You're welcome.
Sorry there wasn't more, we were being followed around by an over enthusiastic talkative museum curator which we were trying to lose but failed lol.

I was surprised to see a Universal Carrier on a flatbed railway wagon at the National Railway Museum at Shildon, County Durham last summer. It is part of the Durham Light Infantry Museum collection.
