Post by Jim Reeves »

Do Mato metal sprockets and idlers fit on HL tanks without modification? Thought I read somewhere that the shaft size is different?

I'd say yes. Except noone really wants to leave the HL idler attachment system because no tensioner is there. And when you go for something else the idlers may be a problem. They have a self tapper and the bearing is 5mm so good luck making a firm setup.

Thanks for all the responses fellas! I should be more specific, these will be mounting on a HL Tiger 1 with HL steel gearboxes, hopefully without too many issues. I do enjoy tinkering with these things to make them work!

Good, I think I know many answers to questions you are not yet aware of.

First what are gonna do with the idlers?

I have the Mato metal idlers as well. Awaiting the steel gearboxes before I make this change.
