What are the absolute best tools you can buy?

Buying the best can also get expensive, especially if you only need to use something once. I find buying the inexpensive to work well: if I use something enough that it breaks I'll buy better next time. Note, that doesn't mean buying the cheapest you can find.

When I started my apprenticeship my mentor a Toolmaker gave me this advise "Buy the best tools you can afford they will last a lifetime",
It is advise that has paid off time after time.
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

Very true, which is why I said inexpensive. As a hobby mechanic I don't need Snap On quality, but equally I don't buy Chinese chocolate spanners.

The little bosch drill /driver 10.8 V is great , trigger controls speed 300-1300 rpm . great for using taps and starting drilling . Make sure its the blue pro one, Makita do one as well. Another good tool for brass sheet ,WISS tin snips, 3 types straight ,right or left fo cutting curves.

If you want cheap Tin Snips I would suggest a small set of gardeners Secateurs.
Good in the Garden and in the workshop. :thumbup:

A good crimping tool, think i had to fix every connection on my 1 st HL. Use this now an Engineer pad-11 Handy Crimp Tool. Perfect crimps 0.7 >2.2 has interchangeable dies if needed.
