Takom 1/16 Type 94 tankette kit

Post by Lert »

So my eye fell on this:

This left me wondering, it mentions that the suspension and road wheels are 'movable' and that the tracks come in individual link or continuous belt types. Think this would be a candidate for easy-ish conversion to R/C? The Type 94 being what it is, the model's size would be quite close to regular 1/35 tanks, so finding space for a battery, receiver and gearboxes would be a challenge but you'd probably be able to fit 1/35 R/C motors / gearboxes in there.

I'm just thinking about maybe getting one, but if R/C'ing it requires more or less a complete scratchbuild redo of the suspension system / tracks, I don't think it would be worth it.

Available here.

You can see the sprues it has here:

http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10496852

It comes with two tracks, plastic non movable ones and rubber belt ones. I think it is going to be very easy to rc it, One small Esc, benedini micro clone and done with lights and sounds,

I wanted to buy one, I thought it came with full detailed interior like the takom Renault ft 17... But unfortunately this one comes empty, so I think I wont grab one...

Well, I wanted to do something like the Renault ft 17 that has been transformed to rc keeping the full detailed interior.(yes, unbelievable work) I posted it in a thread somewhere... Unfortunately due to the loss of photobucker, all those photos are lost forever...

But if a renault ft could be RCed keeping the full interior and not showing even one wire, I dont see why it could not be done with this jap tank.

Good evening and Merry Christmas,
This is a great thing! There aren't a lot of ways to get Japanese RC armor into a collection. This looks extremely promising. Thanks for the heads up and the links. ( and just when I thought I had all the armor I wanted.....silly man )
regards,
Painless

Oi !!...............you have been in/around/immersed in this caper long enough to know the concept of "all the armour I wanted" is flawed and borders on delirium !!!
