Barrel bounce, "jitters"; how to eliminate?

Post by BarryC »

Question for those in the know.

Soooooooo, in all the videos I've watched even the really well made ones the one thing that invariably gives away the fact that it is a model and not an actual tank is the fact that the barrel bounces as the tank moves.

Is this due to the barrel elevation being controlled by an arm mounted on the servo? Will a gear driven elevation control eliminate of greatly lessen this visual distraction?

Thanks in advanced,
Barry

On one of my tanks I added/stuffed a little foam around the barrel where you couldn't see it..it almost stopped the wobble and didn't effect
the movement either.
