Hey Barry, maybe there's hope for my ancient Tamiya static Königstiger after all. But tell me, will the socks fit on the tracks?

I just nabbed that Porsche turret kit for $100 at an estate sale and I am doing what I think you are doing. I will have basically an entire static kits worth of KT leftovers once done.

Hi Mr Barry,
No doubt this will be another masterpiece when completed.
There must be something in the air with King Tigers, i am just revamping my old Porche turret Tamiya as you posted, bought it from a club member about 5 yrs ago now with gearboxes and the DMD unit, was never satisfied with the DMD unit so its all been ripped out and twin esc's added and the last of my Open Panzer control boards fitted, the control i have now is amazing compared to the Tamiya DMD.
Looking forward to your build updates.
Regards
Sub.

Not sure exactly what you're asking. I heard tires on a car called "socks".Herr Dr. Professor wrote:Hey Barry, maybe there's hope for my ancient Tamiya static Königstiger after all. But tell me, will the socks fit on the tracks?

I think he was referring to your socked feet in the pictures.BarryC wrote:Not sure exactly what you're asking. Manheader is a reliable seller I have spent thousands with over the years, and the tracks are (as far as he stated) the Kenny Kong tracks.
Also good idea to pick up the metal front sprocket braces as well as the Schumo-kits axle support bearings https://www.rctank.de/Tigre-Royal-Tamiy ... nt-r-bille if using metal tracks, I just about screamed trying to check out in French on rctank.de a few minutes ago, google translate quits working once you hit the SSL encrypted checkout page.....ARRGGHH.
PRO-TIP, shop on their site via a mobile phone, I just realized it translates automatically.....sonofa...
Second edit: If you are using ETO transmission you probably don't need all the stuff I just told you to buy.

Barry do you have that barrel in hand? if so I need to ask a favor of some photos and possibly measurements, working on a 3D printed trunion to adapt it.
