WPL 1/16 GAZ-66 DIY

Post by lmcq11 »

Hi,

I got an example the new Heng Long M-35 4X4 truck for a planned conversion, but then I saw this new model this week on the same chassis. It is a DIY parts kit without receiver, battery or remote, but seems to come with a servo for directions. What do you think ? what kind of electronics would be required to it ?

I note this shipper does not ship to the UK. It can be found here https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/WPL-B-24-1-1 ... SwU4FaJ2h9, somewhat more expensive, but at least the postage is cheap!

I ordered mine from gearbest and it's supposed to be fully assembled, but it still says "processing" even though it's been more than two weeks since I ordered.

The DIY kits seem like a good deal for those who plan on gutting and modding the trucks anyway. It'd be nice if some of the other model-makers took note!

I totally agree. There's no sense in paying for stock Electronics if I'm just going to pull it out and put in something good anyway. I think I'll order a couple of these. For the price and what I plan to do with them it's a pretty good deal.

Well I know what I'll be doing during my Christmas holiday! Should be able to use spares from my boats to make this work, think I've even got a car ESC somewhere that was in a boat when I bought it!

Did anyone else order one form the link in the above post? I had an email this morning saying something about being the first batch of these and there was a quality issue, so been sent back to the factory and waiting delivery of a second batch, did I wish to cancel or was I happy to wait. Always a little suspicious and not liking to wait too long or things I asked for the refund and will re-order at a later date...
