Burned out Tiger

The next victim for the training range this time is a Tiger 1.
As I have (too) many of them I decided to use one of the older HL Tiger 1 as my next project. his one won't be a target tank but a ''Burned out'' one.
The difference is this one have been knocked out recently (the tones and colours aren't the same) as well as the smoke effects.
To get more realism I take 2 smoke units and the old RX 18 with a small battery that I'm putting inside the hull. Fully loaded with the oil liquid that provide at least 15 min. of smoke coming out of the turret and engine compartment.
Here are the first pictures of the beast:

Nicely done. I'm sure in many ways it's harder to create a convincing knocked out, or abandoned, tank that one rolling off the factory floor, or just a weathered example. I have a thread on Pinterest with over 200 knocked out tanks on it (search: 'Destroyed tanks', if you want a look). Most are from black and white, but there are a few coloured pics. One problem in recreating WW2 battlefield hulks is that the war was largely fought in Monochrome, so to speak.

Looks great! I've never seen a Tiger have a hole punched through its front like that, what kind of shell would have done that?

Good effect. I too am looking to create a Tiger wreck, or at least one that was undergoing field repairs & was over run.
I did a reasonable job on a T34 recently so as I have a terrible old Tiger 1, that can go the same way.
I will be interested to see how you do the burnt rubber on the roadwheels

Some more progress with my Tiger,
I first worked on the rear right side, where the fire first started:

Once I painted the burn colours including the smoke and peeling paint, I work on the chips.

Next let's go for the rear deck with the same effect of rust, smoke and the blistering paint:

Now, the flames and smoke were coming out of the commander's hatch too:

Just incredible work. If I didn't know I'd assume it was full scale and a real fire!
