Looking for a Sturmgeschütz III Cupola

Post by BarryC »

Hi Folks,

I'm looking for a Mato or HL Stug Cupola.

I researching my Pz IV build, still undecided as to whether I'll do an Ausf. F or a very late J.

TIA,
Barry

I should have one if you can’t find one in the US.

I built the Tamiya Ausf.J- and it was almost a labour of love. :D
The very late Ausf.Js had only three return rollers- a very distinctive feature- and one, which when added to the other simplifications caused by economy and necessity, could make for a standout version.

That is precisely what I am considering. The version that was used as an fully tracked, armored forward artillery observation tank. It also has a number of added antennas for the purpose. I have some excellent drawings showing the "simplifications" and other changes.

I will likely scratch build the cupola but looking for for a physical reference. I will be picking up the 1/35 Rye Field Models late J which includes many of the changes including the cupola.

Thank you sir!

I only need it as a "scale" reference and may just reference the 1/35 piece in the RFM kit.
