Wooden bridges

Post by capt midnight »

I just finished this up for a buddy and thought I'd post some pictures. It's the first of two bridges that he ordered from 116 models. He came across them on Facebook. All the parts were precut and ready to assemble. Very little trimming was required to get everything to fit just so.

This one is the smaller one, I'll be getting to the much larger one soon with pictures to come.

Here it is with the deck boards laid out to check spacing...

I forgot to get a shot of the underside, but the base is made up of a couple of heavy runners with angled ends for the approaches, and pieces of plywood for the approaches and the deck area. The decking boards are glued to these pieces.

Here the main deck is glued on and I've started on the guide guard rails...

To give you an idea of the size, here's an Asiatam Famo on it for scale. More on the Famo to come later...

Here are a couple of shots of it pretty much finished up with the building. All the deck nails are in place. These are used as decoration rather than a structural element...

And a couple after the stain and some of the weathering was applied...

I just contacted him through Facebook Messenger. Really helpful with the ordering, funds conversion, and shipping process. He also sent me pictorial building instructions for both bridges. Really a top notch guy and a pleasure to do business with!

I'll bet that's why it doesn't work for you, Wayne. The only way I ever contacted him was through Facebook.
