After painting I’ve glued the windows in their openings. Now to the functions of the house. For the light has been used again LED; for the smoker function of the chimneys I’ve bought a suitable Seuthe-smoker. From polystyrene plates I’ve been build a smoker unit; she will be moveable. Consisting of a tank for the smoke oil, a smoke chamber a big smokestack.

Image

These smoke unit can be mounted if neccessary.

Image

At the backside leads the smoke stack directly upwards…

Image

Here the base plate for smoke unit and later also the battery.

Image

The smoke chamber at the base plate from behind…

Image

…and here from front side. The smoke chamber receives later a front plate with big air holes.

Image

The base plate from top.

Image

Here with the smoke chamber before insert in the smoke stack and…

Image

…here already inserted in the smoke stack.

Image

Backside has been installed a smoke collecting box; bottom with a hole to insert the smoke stack.

Image

In the next step receive the box four pieces of a kind of handles.

Image

A side view…

Image

The cover for the box receives three exhaust pipes; each pipe leads to one chimney draft.

The position of the smoke collecting box and…

Image

…with the cover closed.

Image

All exhaust pipes have been glued into the cover with adapter plates;…

Image

…the pipes have been a bit angled.

Image

Inside the smoke collecting box is a fan located, responsible for a good deduction and even distribution to the chimneys. The speed has been controlled by a pulse width modulation board.

To that later more…

Under the roof box are two switches for the functions; light and steam.

Image

Thereafter has been started the cabling.

Image

The Light for my house is two LED, which are mounted on a little square bar.

Image

Both chimneys have been mounted for adjustment temporary at their later places. Good to see is the green plastic tube, this is the connection between box and chimney.

Image

Here the bar with the lights; hold with two little magnets.

Image

The rafters have been doubled for a better adhesion for the roof battens.

Image

This was the next step; wood stripes of 3 x 5 mm have been used as roof battens.

Image

Simultaneously have been the first roof tiles glued; base material for the tiles were tongue depressors, which have been corresponding shortened.

Image

Between this step I‘ve make some breaks. This was necessary to prevent a turning of the tiles. Pictures…

Image

Image

Image

At both sides have been little bars glued for the roof box.

Image

Until this edge has been the tiles glued. Again pictures…

I wonder if one could 3D print the shingles in sections or in strips? Using wood filament you wouldn't even have to paint them. Just a good wash with black or dark earth would make them look great. Not sure about cost compared to tongue depressors, which one can probably get in bulk online. A kilo of wood filament is about $35 USD but I'm not sure how much roof that would cover. But it would definitely improve the speed of assembling the roof, handy if you're doing multiple buildings.

Mr hotte8487, do you not double batten or use the facia at gutter level to kick up that first row slightly in Germany?

I ask because I'm curious as you appear to use construction principals in your models.

Hello Max-U52,

the costs for my tongue depressors are similar of your wood filament; I would mean even a bit sheaper...
And wood work is in this case my favorite. As result a stabil house with a light weight.

On principle yes; but also only in a certain extent. Later is nothing to see from the effort that one made oneself... 8O

Meanwhile my work at the roof I’ve concerned also with the door. She should be a box door; the inner frame is made from square bars 5 x 5 mm.

Image

This frame has been thereafter from one side with rests of tongue depressors glued.

Image

At this side have been both hinges mounted.

Image

The door can be opened; that’s why the door has also to lock. A little tongue from brass has been mounted on a little piece round brass.

Image

Here in function; opened…

Image

…and here closed.

Image

Thereafter has the door been mounted and…

Image

…the work at the roof continued.

Image

Each tile row has meanwhile drying been pressed with clamps. Pictures…

Image

Image

The roof tiles lie so nicely flat on each other after drying.

Image

Image

The first roof half is almost finished…

Image

…continued in the next part.

Continued at my entrance door, she receives at the front side a frame and inside the frame also a decoration. Made also from tongue depressors.

Image

In the entrance area receive my house a hallway floor; this to simulate at opened door a finished house.

Image

The hallway floor was also made from tongue depressors.

Image

Image

The door receives still a lock cover and a door handle. Thereafter she has been mounted.

Image

Image

Image

The remaining door area was finally covered with wood and coloured.

For a battle field house enough.
