I like farmer buildings and half-timbered houses .

Pinewood is actually not expensive; the high price is due to the work done. If you know a carpenter, then let him cut square moldings to size. Remnants of pinewood can be found in any joinery. And if you're lucky, you'll get them as a gift - then it wouldn't matter how many you need. ;)
