Bierkeller facade

Post by frankie »

Taking s couple of my Fury tanks to a show so thought, as it's a tabletop display, I'd do a couple of building fronts to use as a backdrop. Made a start on a Bierkeller/hotel..

Looks good. I assume that is foamboard. If so, be wary when you paint it. I sprayed mine with acrylic using an airbrush, and it warped. The moist caused the paper fibres to shrink, warping it towards the sprayed side. That was Tamiya paint and Tamiya thinners. I did one other wall using a Tamiya rattle can and that was OK.

I searched on the Internet for German WW2 posters and then printer the images off. The details aren't great for full size prints but for 1/16th they look okay.

Shop front looks great Frank.
Are you going to battle damage it?

Now you need this lolImageImage
A type of resin carpet stuff I brought back from Dortmund intermodelbau last year, the cobbled street is already on a plinth but I also have a sheet of roof tiles and a few different wood plank sheets. The plinth is oversized for 1 tank or 2 at a push lol
