For my barn roof I’ve imagined a cover from roofing felt. Long time I’ve thought about the material for my modelling roofing felt; at each case it must be flexible and the shocks of the rollers are good to recognize. In our local drugstore I’ve found a package floor clothes for nearly one euro; this will be my base material. Stripes with round 7 cm width were cut and thereafter with Latex Binder glued onto the roof. At the annex I’ve started…

To bottom and to each side has the roof felt a supernatant – a roof gutter will not be installed.

Image

The shocks of the rollers and the overlaps are good to recognize.

The first side is finished,…

…at the counter side it goes on. A third floor cloth was needed;…

Image

…in a better to the heaven corresponding design.

Image

The last roller was glued over the ridge; here still some views…

The hole roof was at the end complete with the binder painted.

Image

If all is good dried, will the roof receive a black painting with acrylic paint.

To this point next time…

Today the last and only short report to the roof. The painting for my roof felt was made with an acrylic paint from a DIY superstore. This paint has a pasty consistence; thinned with alcohol I’ve mixed a good spreadable paint fluid and immediately tried. With the result I’m satisfied; the black paint has good covered.

Image

Thereafter were first the inner edges from the roof felt painted,…

Image

…before it goes on at the roof. A special care applied to the shocks of the rollers and at the overlaps; these were first painted, thereafter the interspaces.

Image

And here already the result; right and…

Image

…left.

Image

That’s now all about the roof; it goes on at the lower part of the barn…
