It was working fine when I shut down last week, but now on startup it doesn't chugga-chugga or smoke. I assume its dead?
I do have a spare H/L, but, given the spotty reputation whats a good direct replacement for My all plastic M-26?
(IN the U.S if that matters.)
TIA guys & gals.
H/L smoker no smokee.

Mr Spam the best smoker in my humble opinion is the Tarr smoker. You can aquire them from a few of the vendors on the forum and the shipping is really reasonable.
Tanks alot....

Plug and play unless you buy the proportional version. Those simply wire up to the motors the smoker that I purchased the mark 2 plugs directly into the control boardSpam In A Can 26 wrote:Thanks. Are they plug n play, or do I need to do wiring & so on.

Re: H/L smoker no smokee.
I'm not an expert. As all my tanks have IBU boards or Clark boards they can control the proportional smoke. With stock electronics or a base version on the Clark board it's not proportional unless you buy the proportional version of the Tarr smoker. That works by tapping into the motor leads I believe and as you accelerate it smokes more or lessSon of a gun-ner wrote:Thank you Mr rainford.
You've helped me out too, I will look into these smokers.
And was I correct with my assessment of the proportional one and the way it works?
Mick.

Re: H/L smoker no smokee.
No problem I was thinking of asking the same thing.
I know on my 2.4 Board there's a sequence to the startup its not all simultaneous. My Heng Long smoker, plugged into the controller has a delay, so, oddly do the tail lights!
I guess this is part of the normal routine no matter which smoker you connect to the controller. I have no idea on direct connection to the motors though.
Does someone have a contact for a U.S. dealer for the Tarr units?

I'm not sure here in the states you can check out custom rctank of OKC I I purchased mine from Forgebear on the Forum and Tankbear (Ian) on the Forum they're shipping to the US was very quick and inexpensive and the price for the unit was very competitiveSpam In A Can 26 wrote:No problem I was thinking of asking the same thing.
