My Grandfather

Post by Steve.d.scott »

I give you Robert Fredrick (Fred) Geddes.
43Wessex , Royal Ordance, he landed in Europe on D+1 and remained there until the end of the war. He was part of the push to Arnhem. Never spoke much of the war but was proud when I joined.

Looks like your Grandfather was in the same Division as my Father, and Uncle; though they were in the Recon section (Part of The Royal Armoured Corps) 43rd Wessex was also involved with Caen (Hill 112), the Reichswald campaign, and much more, apart from the race to Arnhem.
Good to have you onboard, Steve  :)
