New updates?

Post by Aussie »

Why is it when you read a thread up to the last post , then log off , later on log on , the red update tells you new posts are there to read , so log on , but , have to read right back from the start of the thread , which you may have read a dozen times?
On a site I linger on quite often , the go is , read the thread , log off , log on , it says new posts , log on , click on new posts and it takes you to the new , unread posts straight away.
Why is this not possible here?
Also , TOTM , all images are links , why aren't they posted straight up to the thread?

My images are all posted direct to the thread. A lot of people choose to host their photos elsewhere. Consequently they post a link.

Regarding the unread posts, all I do is click on unread posts rather than using the markers on the individual threads.

Some reason you can't post the link that shows up in IMG code to show the picture. I had to go back into my photo bucket to get the link out.

Aussie, If you look at the box on the upper right which carries your details the top line is "VIEW NEW POSTS" ,
I always click on that so there is no trawling through pre-read entries.
Shaun.
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

I think Aussie was asking about making it such that when you click on a thread it takes you to the page last on rather than the first one.

If you click on the Image image to the left of the thread title, it will link you directly to the first unread post.
