HTTP Secure

Post by Scooby »

I've just installed an SSL certificate on the site today which allows anybody that wants to, browse the website securely via data encryption.

For those that have no idea what this is:
A normal HTTP website sends and receives data as plain text, where as a website with HTTPS encrypts data sent and received with SSL. This data includes things such as the sites code and can contain your password when you are logging in.

Should I use it or not?
- If you use a public computer, public network or an unsecured WiFi point then yes you should.
- If you don't fall into the above category then you probably won't need this at all, having data sent over plain text through a cable or a secure WiFi point is safe as can be.

For those that want to know more about HTTPS can visit: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTTP_Secure" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

To use SSL you can change http:// to https:// in the URL bar or you can follow the link below:

https://www.rctankwarfare.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Enjoy!
