I had a look, but couldn't find an answer. Here's someone asking the same question:
https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthr ... e-to-FS-I6
I think that internally, there's probably little difference between the FS-T6 (I have one, by the way) and the -i6. But, as with smart phones, and computers, some are 'hobbled' to create a range of models- and, of course, a range of prices. It only takes a slight difference in the cmos unit, or firmware chip's pathways, to create a 'new' model.

I don't know whether it's possible to return to the original firmware, if the update is flawed, Jofaur. I've never tried to update mine, as it works pretty well as a 6-channel unit. Unlike our dear old TX-guru, Rad, I don't need more than 6 channels, normally.
If I ever do need more, I also have the Taranis Q X7, and this offers up to 16 channels.

Well, my advice in the past, was to get a 9X radio, flash the software and fit a new screen.Jofaur86 wrote:I will do thevtest ,found in the net that two RX were compatible with T6 ?an RB 6 ( 6 chanels ) RB 9 ( 9 chanels ) ??as well as the protocol !!At the same time i will follow Rad's advicev, and find a Flysky TH9XB.Good Nigth
Nowadays the things evolved and there are better alternatives out there, like the ones I wrote on my website.
But as a second though, considering the 9x radios can be found used super cheap, they are still a great value, much, much better than what most people uses.

9XR is a 9X with a newer horrible case.Jofaur86 wrote:Hello

9XR PRO is an awesome piece of technology, superior to the taranis radios, but with the newer horrible case.
Both are discontinnued for some reason I will never understand.
