Mode 1 or Mode 2

Post by Dark46 »

I've got 2 transmitters one is a turnigy and the other is a Flysky, I've noticed the the FS is a mode 2 . Does this make a difference when buying receivers?

Mode 1 or mode 2 reflects to the use of sticks....that has nothing to do with a receiver

Mode 1? has the throttle located on the right transmitter stick, ?Mode 2? has the throttle stock on the left.

Cheers, I've just gone back to a couple of adverts and on one it actually says in brackets (left stick throttle). Feel quiet silly now ;D

Modes can also change depending on which channels of the Receiver (RX) you plug the servo connectors into. Here's a guide I used when setting up my Tamiya models to reflect standard HL/Taigen toggle orientation (Turret functions on left and Drive functions on right- and only because that's what I'm used to.. :) Hope it helps

Or a snippet:
Stick modes and receiver channels
Stick modes and receiver channels
This applies to 4-channel setups, but the same basic principles apply to 6, 8 and more channels RXs.

Mode 1/2 really refers to the fact that only 1 stick is set to self centre.

UK standard flying transmitters are Mode 2, which means left stick is throttle and does not self centre on the up/down axis. Right stick is control and does self centre in all directions.

The various channels on the receiver receive the same inputs from the transmitter...but which channel does what could well be different. It doens;t matter what channel on the receiver does what fuinction, as you just plug in the servos the way you need. Mode is more releveant and important in terms of the transmitters and haw they operate.
