Wheel masking tip.

Post by Davarama »

When airbrushing my Panther wheels I made a mask from Plasticard for the tyres on the single wheels as the tyres were hard to remove (I think the tyres went on before the 2 sides of the wheel were glued) but I still got overspray.

Remembered an old trick for spraying car wheels; paint the tyre with neat dishwashing liquid, paint wheel and when thoroughly dry, remove any overspray with a damp cloth. I got very good results. I could have used Maskol but mine has set.

Hope this is of use, regards, Dava.
