Mud, mud glorious mud

Hi all,

I was wanting to put some dried mud onto the wheels and lower hull of my tiger, I want it to have a dried on baked look, some large lumps but not caked on. anyone got any hints tips, tutorials, pictures of youtube links that would help a determined semi novice get it right

I mix in plaster of Paris mix with the muddy blackish brown paint to give it clumps. But then I haven't done this on any of my R/C tanks only model kits. My R/C tanks get real mud on them all the time, it's hard to beat real weathering.

A mixture of brown fence paint (it does what it says on the tin), play pit sand, PVA glue and real mud.

I use white glue, real dirt, suitable paint added in if required, and potting mix to get real body.
I used pigment and sanded pastel dust on my pig-stug.

If you want the wet mud look, use gloss paint in the mix for the wet shiny new mud effect.

i use real dirt crushed to a powder then a small drop of pva glue and some water then brush on

The ammo (by mig) mud kit is excellent. A combination of acrylic resin, pigments, plaster of Paris, oils and wet effects for that fresh mud look.
