Another Armortek Tiger with a new home
Another Armortek Tiger with a new home
Hi All,
My first post as a kind on introduction. So i decided to go large and secured an Armortek Tiger 2007 release. I have many decades of RC modelling under my belt in various disciplines but was not prepared for what met me when i collected the beast. As a well known movie phrased "im going to need a bigger car" Biggest nail biting conclusion to me collection day was getting it out the car. I had made some makeshift ramps out of builders planks with some square dowelling added as stops, i believe the tank is approx 140KG so the beads of sweat were running especially when i got it 45degs across the planks. Phew just rescued. Shes 24V TBS5 sound module large capacity smoker. This really is an impressive beast and the finite control from the ESC's is amazing. A couple photos added in lieu of me bombarding you guys for advice and upgrade parts (detailing extras etc).

Impressive model for sure! And yes the weight of these beasts can be a bit overwhelming, especially an Armortek one. Had to buy some folding metal ramps to get my 1/6 scale tanks in and out of my trailer. Have fun and enjoy!

Yeah some folding wheel chair ramps or similar needed for sure. Out of interest does anyone lubricate the drive sprockets with something like a motorcycle chain dry lube. I guess even with a wax coating dirt built up might turn it into an efficient grinding paste.

Perhaps a Silicone spray which will not attract dirt but will lower friction between surfaces,NBT191413 wrote:Yeah some folding wheel chair ramps or similar needed for sure. My choice would be -----
"WD-40 SPECIALIST Anti-Friction DRY PTFE Lubricant",
Good on gears as well and no overspray to worry about on the electrics
I think I am about to upset someone

I used to have one of those- a wife, I mean Ah...(waxing whimsical ) all those one-way marital compromises....I made.NBT191413 wrote: this one is how the wife looked when i reversed it out the car
Still friends, though, but separated by 600 miles: the ideal distance for harmony.
