I started off making patterns & then using foam I trial built a Stowage bin. Foam has different properties than plastic so some mistakes were made. However a bin was made so I moved onto making the bin out of plastic. It would have been easier if i'd bent the walls of the bin using heat but I got there.

I still encountered problems making the bin out of plastic but those were over come.

Things are still not 100% but close enough for now.

Once again the Stowage bin is in place temporarily.

Things to do today. Make & fit an L bracket support to keep the bin attached to the Turret. I need to find my scale fixings. It appears the bolt enter the bin from inside the turret & under side of the bin & a nut is fixed in place. I've got this?

Great work, loving the detail. From looking at the photos I can’t understand why they wouldn’t have put a few drainage holes in the bottom.

There's a rubber gasket under the bins lid, that will keep the water out but you are right. If the lid was opened in the rain water will get trapped in there.

I have been working on the turret gain. This time on the "L" Brackets that hold the bin to the turret. Today has been difficult to give any time to this project but although it was a small bit of work it has made a big impact. I still need to fettle certain details of the bin lid and of course I have to send away for the clasps & hinges. More photos to follow.

You can see a line I have scribed on the lid. I think it best to remove materials to make that piece even?

Not much more to describe here. The inside of the turret isn't painted & the outside still needs a load of work painting and weathering.

Looks great to my eye. You're doing a truly great job on this, and if I didn't already have more projects going then I can handle I'd be shopping ebay right now for a PII kit to go with the Hetzer. I'm watching this one closely and I really like the build so far. Can't wait to see video of this Bad Boy in action.

I had this gearmotor recommended to me http://www.robotmarketplace.com/product ... -2003.html However robot market only sell the right hand motor. A quick internet search later I went to source https://www.amequipment.com/shop/230-se ... 2lm9-fsxtz and they sell the left & right hand motor. Innovator on You Tube used them in his Panzer II. I'm think they might work in a Sherman if I ever get one of them or to convert the static Hetzer {if I can find one at the right price?}

The ones from em equipment look good and they have a lot of choices. Have you been able to get dimensions? How big is the hub on the sprockets (the most you can enlarge the axle hole)? I'd go for the bigger 11mm shafts if you can. Beefier is better, eh?

It's shame postage costs so much. I still have the motors that came with the Hetzer, and they'd probably be perfect in that tank. The motors I did put in the Hetzer would be way too heavy for the Dragon PII, though. What are you going to control the motors with? If you go 3S lipo you can still use an IBU. I'm using a 6S so I got a sabertooth 2x32, but I have it Yed to an IBU for all kinds of cool features.

I've had quite a bit of fun looking for ebay deals on 1/6 figures myself, so I know what you mean about them. You've probably seen these guys, starting with Wittmann and Weber. I'm not sure even being a tank Ace would get you a Mercedes like the 540K, but I imagine someone might loan you one while you were home on leave, just so they could say it had been driven by a Hero of the Fatherland. Maybe? Maybe not? Anyway, here's a couple of the guys I've picked up, some for as cheap as $15 USD.

A couple of the many projects in the wings are that Sd.Kfz.250 and I have a Dragon Kubel kit and one of the balloon tire kubels that came assembled I'd like to RC. Way too many projects waiting, after the Hetzer.
