Heng Long M26 vision blocks "squashed flat"?

Post by Spam In A Can 26 »

Is it me or are they "squashed"?
I seem to remember vision blocks being quite "chunky", but the ones on my M26 seem artificially compressed vertically. A bit like Google Earths rendering of cliffs & other vertical features.

Since no else has chosen to answer you I will.
The vision blocks are correct as is the general shape of the commanders copula. Paint the blocks black then when dry paint over the black with a few coats of clear gloss. This will make them stand out.

That would work, but the old copula would have to cut out (which it should be anyway to get the hatch into the correct position) but making those tiny glass panes for the vision blocks is a lot harder then just painting the existing ones.
