Tamiya M4

Post by mike1268 »

First point I want to make it that the Tamiya M4 is a very nice kit. I'm not aware of many problems with it so far.

First observation that cant be fixed, it eats through 7.2v batteries faster then my fully upgraded HL Stug III

The main reason for this post, and the only upgrade/change I would recommend to anyone building this tank is to swap the return rollers out for ones that have a rubber band on them. What seems to happen is the return wheel seizes and wears a flat spot on the original plastic wheels. This will damage the tracks over time. I got a set of replacements for about £13 delivered from the USA that have the rubber band. Mine seem like a high quality plastic that look just like the originals. You can also get them in metal but I couldnt find anyone selling them when I looked.

Will post some pics when I have them.
