Inside the Third Reich

Post by Saxondog »

This is a very informative book and a great read as the insight into the world around Hitler and more specifically Albert Speer's view and involvement in armaments production, without which the Tiger,Panther, and King Tiger as well as many other machines would of been impossible to manufacture. His genius of streamlining production techniques and his direct access to Hitler enabled him to push these products into production. From the early days of the Reich to the turbulent war years this is the only first person account from the inner circle ever written, but Speer was a smart man and it has been said the only man next to Hitler who new right from wrong, but duty and the powerful personality of Hitler kept this man pushing production to the very end.He is the only person to of personally had direct involvement in Armor Production at the highest level to survive the war and give us this insight. As a side note this was the basis for a movie of the same name, and it is a fair portrayal of the book and the man.
