Russian 12th tank brigade

Post by jee »

Well, some weeks ago I got infected with a tank virus (for Corona I am already vaccinated with Sputnik V) and now I am searching for more info about the 12th tank brigade.

So, why the 12th tank brigade you will ask.
Because my wifes grandpa served in it, and it interest me to know more about the eastern front and where he fought.

What I understand so far, he made maps for the commanders, he was not in a tank crew.

We found his history on the website https://pamyat-naroda.ru/?static_hash=9 ... 3214e042v1 under the Heroes section.
He received 2 medals and there is more info about the war there.

Of course on wikipedia is also info about the 12th brigade, although not so much: https://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/12-%D1%8F ... 0%B4%D0%B0

Furthermore I found this website were you can find the path the followed throughout the war: http://tankm.ru/
This is a interesting site.

My question to you, in case you have more info about the brigade, can you please inform me.
I will add more info when I find it of course.

Ow, and regarding the tanks, so far I found they used T-34, T34-85, KV-1 and IS-2, so a lot of tanks to buy :D

A very interesting bit of background history, Jee. Given the number of tanks you must buy to populate it, you will need a lot of rubles, or several birthdays in one year

C'mon! That's only one every three months. Where's your sense of irresponsibility? (Do you want to borrow some of my bad--unh good--habits?)
