Tiger Day at Bovvers'

Post by General Jumbo01 »

Did anyone else have the pleasure of watching the live stream yesterday, 23/4, from the tank museum, a free 4 hour free live stream event organised by the tank museum and World of Tanks. The filmed coverage was great using both ground and drone cameras to give close ups as the dozen or so top tanks drove around the display field.

The commentary was also detailed and very knowledgeable but the timing was a little out of sync, strange for a live event! Like about 5 mins out of sync!! As each tank drove in turn into the display area so the commentary on it began. After about 5 mins, when complete, the next tank appeared and so on. Unfortunately the first out was 131 but the commentator gave a great potted history of the panzer 3... Then the panzer 3 came out and the commentary was given for the next tank yet to appear for 5mins, and so on for a frustrating hour or so. Given it was live, how could this have happened without someone spotting the major mistake?

All this occurred some 30 mins late due to a delayed start to the stream where for the first 30mins consisted of a repeating World of Tanks advertisement.

The filler mini documentaries on their 131 were very good though and the 4hrs passed quite quickly.

The only actual live stuff appeared to be limited to the links between display and the mini features but next time, if there is another stream event, they'll do better. However, it was free and did provide all those of us who were not able to attend the sellout event the experience of seeing all those great, rare monsters rumbling around the large arena. Well done Bovvers', hope to be at the next one in person.
