Hooben Mark IV Male Kit

Post by Xiaoshan_Sailor »

Looks like Clark missed out on another of his creations. Hooben just posted on the local WeChat groups their "soon-to-be released" Mark IV Male kit.

As they say in show biz... stay tuned!

Despite the numerous bad reviews of Hooben products, I'd still be very tempted by that!

Yep, same here but only once I find what the build consists of. Knowing these guys, it will be combination of used circuit boards & PLA. Note the oft-mentioned "metal" being bandied about. :/

Hooben's laoban was posting on one of our local WeChat groups so it was a surprise to me. I told him I'll bite only if he can confirm it runs at scale speed & won't break within 30 minutes of use. :haha:

So barely moving then, and I thought multiple breakdowns in a running session would make it more accurate to the real ones?

A fascinating discovery, Sailor!. I note that ten of its main trumpeted features (the majority, in fact) are 'Optional'.
Perhaps a No 11 could be 'reliability'. :haha:

I want one but the company’s reputation sends up a red flag for me. So many horrible reviews of their other offerings.

Nice! I was hoping that the Tamiya would rescale its Mark IV someday. If electronics are optional maybe they will sell it as a kit this time.

It'll be interesting to see how the drive system works. On the plus side, there's no suspension so that's one less part to go wrong...... I'm tempted, but would want to see a UK reseller rather than sending money into the blue in the hope it turns up.
