Bizarre. Looks exactly like the 1/25 from the 1970s, including the level of details and some decals used are the same. Seems to me like another upgrade of the old 1/25 kit with new electronics and gun elevation parts, but upscaled to 1/16.

What is this ? Gun elevation through a static mantlet. This is really ugly and inaccurate.

Looks like Tamiya provides two mantlets, one for RC and one for static display.

The one for static display goes on top of the RC one. Looks to be the same shape as 1/25.

Don't know about you guys but i am certainly not able to lift my 1/16 Tamiya Pershing like this from the rear road wheels. Whatever it is, it does not have a lot of metal in it.

I'm very interested in a centurion but I think I will hold off and see what the Haya version is like.

For the Haya Centurion you have to wait until autumn 2022.

That suits me fine. I have enough projects in the queue to keep me occupied for a couple of years at my current pace so a few more months wont bother me if the Haya turns out to be a better option. I'm guessing it might be a while before the Tamiya version hits the shelves anyway?

You are very likely right there Mr B-man, plus the expected outrageous price tag on them which is a hallmark of the Tamiya products.
Just out of principle, its a shame that Mr Haya wont beat them to market.
If I had the inclination for a Cent, I would go with a Haya version for no other reason other than to support the little guy having a go.
Wonder what the Tamy electronics will be ??

For the Tamiya Sheridan it was about half year from first photos to start of sale.
