I double checked and it seems that on that particular listing the seller put the scale wrong.
It’s your tank it’s what you make it

When l look back through the history of RC car racing (which was strong with lots of UK clubs) the one thing that nearly killed it off was the introduction of more scales and race classes. This killed off many clubs and few have returned. If you add more standards you water down the following of each of them and that is very bad news.

Storage and cost is another factor to consider, as is the family!

It's bad enough that we have 1/16 tanks and 1/14 Tamiya trucks. Keep lt Simple Stupid if you want our hobby to grow? For myself, 1/16 is just about right.

I do get that aswell, i love my 1/16 stuff.
However some very naughty people got me interested in 1/6 which is fun on a different level, more so trying to sneak it past people. Its like a bigger challenge to hide 1/6 toys around the house! lol

I Agree. 1/16 is great for group meetings. 1/6 only if you have very big car. :haha:

To me, the larger scale the model, the better it is. IF I have the ability, I'd make it 1:1 scale. Of course, that's only a big IF. So, 1/16 should be minimum requirement for me and the best of 1/16 is that it is affordable and portable.

If I'm not mistaken the two most popular scales of armors are 1/16 for small size and 1/6 for the large size. Looks like only Hooben supplies 1/10 and Heng Long has some 1/8 scale armors, others are scratch build. 1/4 is also very rarely seen, not sure who's the supplier.

Since 1/10 (and 1/8) is between 1/16 and 1/6, I think it is both not small enough and not large enough. If I want a small model, I'd go for 1/16 and if I want a large model, I'd go for 1/6. 1/10 (and 1/8)? Sorry, no!

True, but no it such an issue. Firstly, there is a more than full range of all types and liveries in all the popular scales. Secondly, track dimensions restrict any mix if loco scales so clubs and such don't suffer. The only issue is with 00 and H0 scales which differ but use the same track dimensions, which is wrong for 00! And, guess who uses H0? Yes, the UK :{

Yeah, I was long time TT modeller, niche 1:120 scale almost not known in the UK ;) But there is much more railroad modeller than RC tankers so there is no issue with many scales to choose.

Its all good discussion.
Recently i have also started my own 1/16 Garden railway, but using track that is strictly not to scale, but there is only so far you can go. I do not intend to make my own gauge rail, so happy to keep my narrow gauge 1/16 on 45mm track as you could argue that in some countries it may have been close enough haha
