That's it exactly Mick :D if I want to buy cheap and i can wait I buy from China, but if I want something quickly I try to purchase from within the UK and that's what doesn't sit well with me when they ship from China which I could have ordered from in the first instance and probably at half the cost

That just seems to be the way of the world these days. The guys who said they had the 1/6 scale schwimmwagen kit didn't really have it. They had just been informed that Dragon was going to re-release it so they put the item on eBay hoping they would get them in stock before the extended shipping time they asked for expired. I ended up having to get my money back. The other one that really Frosts my tail is that most of these eBay sellers don't seem to realize that there's a big difference between creating a label and shipping an item. Many times I've ordered something and they would Mark it shipped but tracking still said label created and then he didn't actually take the item to the postal service for 3 or 4 days. Like I said, there's a big difference between creating a label and shipping an item. Just like there's a big difference between having stock in one country or not, but I know that a lot of the Chinese based organizations that say they have us stock actually have a warehouse here in the US. Creality is one of them, and they have two different warehouses in the US.
When FDR coined the phrase "The Arsenal of Democracy", he was talking about Detroit. Proud to live in the 2nd most violent city in America!!

If it's urgent then buy UK and checkout the forecast delivery date feedback on the seller first. I too have a blacklist of UK based sellers who ship from China.

If l can wait then l use Banggood as it carries items no UK seller does and it's crazy cheap. I've used Banggood for years and never been let down - just don't expect next day delivery and checkout their descriptions with buyer reviews, they don't always match!

Still a useful supplier though.

This problem isn't unique to the UK. It happens with vendors in the US also. They say "US Stock" and it ends up coming from HK or China. I made a couple of orders through AliExpress 3 weeks ago and they have been turned over to the shipper for 2 weeks and still haven't arrived in the US. Right now shipping times are all f'd up.
