Interesting Dam Find

Post by B_Man »

As you may be aware many parts of Australia are affected by the worst drought in decades. As the water levels in dams and rivers are dropping some interesting artefacts that haven't seen the light of day in a long time are starting to emerge including the remains of an M3 Grant: https://www.camdenadvertiser.com.au/sto ... 36#slide=0

It is amazing the amount of war relics that are around us but very rarely seen.

I remember the pillboxes etc coming out of the dunes at Druridge Bay (Northumberland) along with the tank traps following storms. There are still warnings about sliding down dunes as some are full of barbed wire.

I think if someone had said that I was going to live my life again but with the added bonus of being a millionaire I think the appropriate response would have been "There's more chance of finding an M3 Grant tank in an Australian reservoir" amazing..
