Hi! Hopefully I am asking this in the right place.... any chance you lovely people could post some close up shots of the drive wheels an track designs used on your various models please?
I am scratch building my own design and really struggling to settle on a good design that is going to be robust, effective and lends itself to being 3d printed for use with high torque motors
Really appreciate any guidance you lot can offer!
Cheers

Can you cheat & use HL or similar tracks?

It’s a fully custom build - a sci fi tankRobW wrote:Can you cheat & use HL or similar tracks?

It’s actually the first of a number of models I need to design and build for a game of my own making that uses raspberry pi boards to create a multi play word that mixes physical models and real world terrain with virtual models and constructs using augmented reality
It does give me a lot of creative license on the designs but they need to function well so I thought it best to base the principles on real world tank designs
If anyone is interested in knowing more about the game or providing input, I am happy to start a separate thread to give more detail

Sketch up & dimension what you're after: by the time you've looked at Panzer 3/4, Sherman, T34, KV, Tiger etc you may find you can just buy the injection moulded units. Not saying don't make your own, but given there are lots of links to print, trim & connect you may find it's too much hassle.
