Is obviously Soviet tank, comrade. Weapons of proletariat are built strong with simple tools, precision engineering is only for Fascists and bourgeoisie.

Sorry for this late post as l somehow missed it. As a business l too hope it is insured but as a personal investment and collection no amount of insurance can replace it.

There is no need for any of us to use Lipos when NiHMs are available and, indeed, can be shape configured in packs to suit the space available. Tins are better than nothing but proper Lipo charging pouches are available cheaply and all car race clubs insist members use them or they are not insured by the BRCA. I suggest all RC. Tank clubs do the same.

Sad news and rotten luck.

One never knows when the old tumbler-dryer is going to toast the house, and render the oblivious occupants medium rare. The same can happen courtesy of Lipos, knock off ac adaptors, dodgy chargers, and any number of products needing juice, in this increasingly gizmo-dependent world. Since prevention is better than cure, I'd advise users never to leave charging devices unattended, and always to use pouches (as per GJ's observation) when using Lipos. Again, I'd never leave a washing machine or dryer on when I leave the house, lest I return to a heap of smoking rubble, and extra ultra-dry clothes. :O
As for poor Christain, I guess he can draw some comfort from the fact that clones (or approximate clones :D ) of his models exist around the globe. So, all is not lost, I guess. :| :problem:

Great news that Christian is well on the way with the rebuilding, hopefully see him turning out some of his impressive kits in the near future
