Torro M16 halftrack
Torro M16 halftrack
Just came across this and was wondering if anyone had one and what their thoughts were about it. From a video I saw seemed pretty well built with steering, rotating and elevating gun mount. Been a fan of the US Halftracks since childhood and might half to put it on my Xmas list.

Re: Torro M16 halftrack
I have a couple of the original ones and I like them a lot.
Some people don't like the electronics it comes with, and fit new control boards, but I believe they cost as much as the M16.
They are great fun.

Re: Torro M16 halftrack
I bought mine from
http://www.forgebeartanks.com
a couple of years ago,
If you go to UTube there is a multi-part tutorial on modifying it.
I agree the specific to the M16 Elmod board is expensive but it really is a well worthwhile cost,
After modding the armoured screen and the side windows the sky is the limit.
It is one of the most rewarding 1/16 r/c models I have worked on.
Just about everything in the Halftrack can be unscrewed or worked free.
Peddinghaus offer a couple of alternative decal sheets for the M16 to give your Halftrack a unique look.
While I am talking about the M16 does anyone know where I can get hold of a detailed radio to fit in the radio Rack in place of the poorly detailed WSN/Torro radio ?

I think I am about to upset someone
Re: Torro M16 halftrack
I've had several of them and still have one in its complete stock format. So, again, if you have Skype I can show you.

Re: Torro M16 halftrack
I have the older version, 27mhz, and a friend has just received the newer 2.4ghz. Both are exactly the same with the exception of an antenna on the older style.
As Jarndice said, I altered the armoured window screen and it is a very rewarding model. I also added a second radio and headphones for more detail.
Jaundice, try "diorama parts" a german ebay seller for your radio.
Hope you get your M16, Ragnar. I am sure you will enjoy it.
Cheers Afrikakorps

Yes, both are the same. Diorama Freak (sellers store name) or dioramaparts (ebay name).

Re: Torro M16 halftrack
It’s a good halftrack but I would consider taking the tracks off and look for tracks that are suitable . The tracks are rubber and they come off over obstacles . Maybe Sherman tracks be good choice

Re: Torro M16 halftrack
Belive it or not, rubber tracks are authentic. They are what were fitted on the original.
