Not sure where to post, so please feel free to move.
I have just finished a great book, the title is - The last panther, by Wolfgang Faust.
I think this would make a fantastic film.
Let me know what you think.

Re: The Last Panther
It claims it is a real story.
Welll... It's garbage. Fake. Rubbish. Not worth your money if you want the historic background.
If you do want, read both volumes of Panzer Aces.
But... if you love fiction, it may be an entertaining read.
There is one about Tigers too.
P.S. Google the subject, you'll find lots of explanations why this is fiction.

and this one (being more positive) http://postmodernpulps.blogspot.com/201 ... -last.html

1:16 was my scale. Until 'Konan' came into my life... an Armortek 1:6 Tiger 1!
... Now followed by a Panther G, 'Gunther'!
I'm a happy man.

Re: The Last Panther
I read his book, also the one about the Tiger tank... I thought it was a good read, both of them. BUT... I'd take what he says with a grain of salt. Or more like a 20 lb bag of ditto, because he makes a lot of fantastic claims and many of the things he claims happened (such as the beautiful Russian girl allowed to be inside the tank with them, in the tiger book) and a lot of other events sound like sheer fabrications. I can't blame him, he wants to sell books after all, but I just don't believe everything he says happened the way it did, or at all.
A better book was this one (while I am on the subject of Panzer books)
This is, I believe, written by the guy who is shown in the very famous footage of the group of King Tiger tanks, that everyone has seen a dozen times since it is literally in almost every documentary about late-war German panzer battles, Richard Rosen. He is the one standing in the turret of number 300 and, thankfully he did survive the war to write the book later.

This is supposed to be a fantastic book:
I think there's a couple in the series - two on Wittmann.
