Smoker alternative?

Post by midlife306 »

Hi Yall, just found this on AliExpress, it’s way too big for 1/16 but I’m sure it could be butchered into something much smaller. I’ve just ordered a couple on the offchance...

They arrived pdqImage
Fill it with water & plug in usb, it runs on 5 volts.

Hit the button on the front & the steam is instant.
Image
No smell at all & the steam comes out cold.
I’m going to end up ripping one to bits to see how easy it would be to convert it into a smaller unit as the output is better than any other 1/16 smoker I’ve seenImageImageImage

Good morning,
I'm not sure about mixing a lot of humidity with tank electronics. Condensation could be a severe problem. Even the Lords of Battlefield Rust around here agree that keeping the rust on the outside of the tank is a good thing. Some thought would have to go into how to keep things dry around the device once the original covering is stripped away.
regards,
Painless

Hi.
In case you didnt know....its will probably be an ultrasonic atomiser sealed unit most good ones have a low water level sensor on the top of the atomiser, very small.
They have been used in model boats now for years and work well, there a loads of people selling them and you can make your own by buying the atomiser on line.
They can be put in very small boxes with a fan and small water tank.
Regards.

Painless, I’ve seen a few 1/6 afv’s running steam generators, they condensate like mad, there’s no condensation on this unit

Thanks Sub, I’ll have a look

Cheers

Been used in boats for a long time, instructions on making your own should be available at the following link: http://www.wicksteedparkmbc.com/smoke-generator.html
