Re: Poll: Sd. Kfz. 9 FAMO with towed trailer, FLAK or field
As you say price will be the making or breaking of a Famo in 1/16,
Asiatams Famo is priced at Euro 630 which is more than I and I would suggest most of us would be willing to pay so it will need to be at least Euro 100 cheaper and my comfort level is a lot closer to Euro 350/400 although saying that I did lay out £460 for a 1/12 scale HG-P803A 8 wheeled tipper quite recently, And I am very impressed with it,
But that came complete with a digital 16 channel proportional transmitter/Full Toolkit and all metal underpinnings as well as a brilliant case to carry and store it
So if the maker of my 8 wheeler is involved (Hengguan) I am even more interested.

Can't provide any names yet but it won't be the usual suspects & that would include Clark as I've mentioned on another site. No worries, gents - if the interest is there & project is greenlighted you'd most certainly see a working prototype & production timeline.
Pricing for the FAMO would be close to what was mentioned above & it will be built stout, certainly not of pot metal.
If this one is a hit, other softskins will follow so spread the word. Thanks.

I'm very much interested in 1/16th
As for 1/10, a pointless scale for military vehicles, I won't be interested in that.

My rock crawlers are 1/10 scale, but for military vehicles it has to be 1/16

1/16 is a must for me.
But I am afraid I have no interest in a tracked truck. I just dont like them, and for tracks we already have the tanks...
But I would love to see a lot of light and wheeled vehicles, like the 222 or things like that!

Re: Poll: Sd. Kfz. 9 FAMO with towed trailer, FLAK or field
Thanks, gents. Undoubtedly, 1/16 is the clear direction. Once again, this is no Clark drawing extravaganza but a focused OEM project that will begin with investment in a working prototype before any consideration of pre-sales come about.
Re 1/10, it has its markets but is tiny compared to 1/16. The Hetzer I picked up several months ago fits the bill perfectly for me even if, by the time I'm done with it, the only thing remaining from Hooben will be the hull.
I easily see scout cars for both 1/16 & 1/10 scale follow if this FAMO does well; Sd.Kfz. 221/222/223, Daimler Dingo, Humber and M8 Greyhound all being discussed.

I would pay good money for any or all of these in 1/16.Xiaoshan_Sailor wrote:
