HL Pershing, Gearbox Upgrades?

Post by Glen B »

Does anyone have a favourite product in this category?

The only item I have found so far is this from RCTankWars;

Bulldog / M-26 / KV- 1 Steel Gearbox & 480 Motors

HL Steel Gearboxs with the 480 motors, that drops right into our Bulldog, Pershing or KV-1. This setup is the standard gearing combine this with the smooth strong steel gears and 480 motors should make for excellent speed, power & torque. You will increase your top end speed and add the torque with the Promax 480s without the need for gearing down.

with 480's you will need to add some cooling to the RX18, personally I use 400's with a steel gear and have no issues.
my panther uses the brass 3 to 1 with standard motors but i am waiting for the splines to bend lol.

Asiatam has a set of 3 to 1 gears that are steel, if that is what RCtankwars sells then they should be good for a try.

If I make up a Pershing, the RX-18 will be long gone, replaced with an SLU.

My "cats" have Mato 3:1's with SLU's and I find them to be a good combination.

This may not have any bearing on what you need, But it appears that rctankwars.com is no longer an operational web site. last spring I recieved replies when I tried to place orders but I tried to purchace some items last month and got no replies to multiple emails to the site

You're bringing up old threads mentioning RCTankWars, but news has been out for a while now ... sadly, the owner Phil has passed away almost a couple months ago, read this post => RC Tank Wars Owner Phil Pflueger has died
