I dont know nothing about Torro electronics. You know better.
Anyway, there is a lot of things which may be done to make better Sd.Kfz. 251 better like currently available models.

1. combined steering with both, tracks and wheels
2. bearings on wheels
3. track tensioners
4. hiden battery
5. smoke generator (hardest thing to do)
6. rubber rims for wheels (not mandatory - bonus)

I dont know, maybe there is some Sd.Kfz. 251 with these features, but i dont know about that.

If Torro came with those features (or at least most of them), no one would mind the bad electronics.
You can replace electronics relatively easily (if there's space for the replacement, of course).

The battery is still under the bonnet and the steering servo still under the floor of the engine compartment. But the seats are gone and an armoured plate had to go over the windscreen to hide it all

Ditto for me, jarndice: "Thanks to Cath And Will I already have my Hanomag 251 in splendid detail." Nonetheless, as time goes on, I'll likely give in to two 251s. It's the way of the addict.

It's supposed to be a full option release so guess we'll see once it appears at a show.

Much more to come IF Torro's owner follows through on his grand plan but still waiting for their large scale Schwimmwagon that never materialized.

That said, I downloaded Karlo's excellent 1/10 3DP release the other day & now doing test prints. For those wanting a larger model, Warprint's Sd.Kfz 251/1 Ausf. D (late) is beyond belief when it comes to details. That'll be offered as a kit only when he's finished, initially in 1/6 but possibly also in 1/16.

As with the Schwimmwagen, there will be three color options - gray, sand and three-color. Price unknown yet.

Bosch light is from "Late" version, but wheels caps are from "Standard" version.
Everybody is doing that same mistake again and again.
Bosch light seems to be too long.
Visors for the driver and commander looks terrible.
And there is a missing cutout in the armor in the front area where the fenders connect to the hull.

But its hard to say how the real model will looks. This seems to be just some renders, no?

If it's Torro, I was thinking it would be based on the Trumpeter/WSN since most of their stuff is, but the light on the Trumpeter is not too long like that. It could be that the light is too long due to them shoving a 5mm LED into it or the Das Werks version of the 251 light is too long like that. After finding some build pics of the Das Werk, it seems the Das Werk version is using those wheel caps. It may be based on that kit and not Trumpeter's version.

AFV Modeler has a corrected light for the Das Werk version, but I couldn't tell you if it's the correct one or not as I haven't done the research you have on it: https://www.afvmodeller.com/product/161 ... eter-kits/

Even Trumpeter does not have drivers/commanders visors terrible like this.
Anyway, i have seen some pictures and videos of the Das Werk model as well and even though it looks detailed, there's a lot of things done wrong.
It also has those wrong wheel caps, of course.
Plus the shock absorbers on the last suspension arm (they weren't on the Ausf.D at all).
The bump stops are on each suspension arm (there should only be three on each side).
And I'm only at the bottom of the chassis...

Torro probably won't be based on the Das Werk version, as it lacks that characteristic cutout in the side armour of engine compartment.
I have to check some pictures, but i think new Trumpeter 1/16 model also have this detail.
I don't know which model doesn't have this cutout (and have such ugly visors :headbang: ).

And regarding the Bosch light - how about trying to fit a 3mm LED or a small SMD LED to make it look better?
This light from AFV Modeler looks good at least judging by one picture.
They usually do good, detailed and precise stuff.I like work of the AFV Modeler.

If it were me I would put a smaller LED in there, but for some reason HL and all the other companies seem to be dead set on using round top 5mm LEDs... Doesn't make sense to me.
