Tank wiring

Totally new to tanks, but have some knowledge of rc helicopters and cars. Just purchased a tank which needs connecting to board.
The board is a IBU2R Rev c the motors and gearbox are from DKLM rc which appears to be Full Metal PDSGB Gearbox. Most of the connections appear to be logical, it would be the motor connections I am concerned about, i would have thought esc,s would be needed as the ibu2 doesn't look like it could handle the current of the motors, also I would like to use a DX6i transmitter and would need to get a receiver, is there one which would be better than another.
