"...a machinist...veteran plastic modeller...have RC planes, heli's and cars, ...a 3d printer...." Oh, you are all set! Woo Hoo! Go get 'em!
The Walker Bulldog is a nifty tank, oversized and with glaring errors (e.g. the driver's optics, as you already noticed). Nonetheless, it's also one of my favorites. Do you have any books on the Bulldog? It was used around the world, even somewhat more than in its own country.

I am not a huge armor guy but there are several ones I wanna do up.
I don't have really any books on tanks actually. It was .mil planes as a kid. Built 65 models. I kept the good ones and made a boneyard from the rest.
I should be able to print and machine one into an M42 tho!

Looking forward to your work. I did some armor models in my youth but much more with 48th aircraft (WWII). Tried many types of RC but crashes makes it expensive to me (plane boats and cars). Finally I've found an RC vehicle with a low speed that is hard for even me to crash (and they are a large scale model just waiting for attention)!

Got it out and a lil dirty! Used the stream to clean the tracks off a good bit.
It traveled mud dirt sand and grass well.
Speaker #2 is on the fritz. I got another one to try out.

Portholes are machined and fixed. Gotta do the hull area to fit them then I can glue and touch em up

Some years ago, I learned of knowledgable RC Tankers “down under” fixing the ‘skylights’ on the HengLong and Taiger M41s. These modelers were skilled—but I don’t recall any with your level of machining skills and tools. Wow!

Lol well I wanted them the same height so I gotta mill the bases. Then I gotta jeweler file the plastic off the top hull slots to sit em in flat.
I'm a machinist so this is simple!

Slipped with the damn file, had to do some repainting and blending as well, so it's drying, still a bit of a sheen.
Oh well, field repairs n shit, u know how it is.
At least it looks correct now!
