SG-122 ARTSHTURM III
Was fortunate to secure this oddity as part of an Estate sale recently. Very sad circumstances..............
All I have done is tidy it up and add a couple of minor bits that were broken off & missing.
This one has been around the globe a bit, I believe it was built in the U.S. in 2014, made it down here, and has had a few mods along the way.
Its powered by an Elmod Pro board(not the new ones) which is coming out & going into a Jagdpanzer IV.(from the same sale.)
As I am a weapons grade retard when it comes to electronics, Mr Raminator has kindly agreed to set the thing up for me.
I will put narrow tracks on it to get it closer to its correct period look, and no doubt use the Ostketten on something else.
Chuck a few tools on it as well.
Has an Asiatam lower hull, so its very sturdy & runs well(last time I saw it anyway)
Anyhow, shame about the way I came to have it, but life is what it is...............we are mere custodians.

Well, that took a specialist (my wife) and some digging around on Vkontakte but it seems that this is a rather famous picture but the description is 31 Горковск (there was a tank factory over there) http://scalemodels.ru/modules/forum/vie ... c&start=40 (just use google translate, last posts on page 3)HERMAN BIX wrote: ↑Tue Jun 13, 2023 5:48 amThanks Mr Jee.

"Its powered by an Elmod...which is coming out & going into a Jagdpanzer IV." Unh, so what's going into the SG-122? If you need help, send it to me, and I will install new electronics in, say, 20 years or so.
"that one will end up with a V7.1 H/L" Oh, now is see the answer from you post about the Jadgpanzer IV.

Re: SG-122 ARTSHTURM III
Back on with this one folks, an overview of use of captured enemy equipment:
https://en.topwar.ru/179167-ispolzovani ... vojny.html
The Elmod is out, and H/L V7.1 is in.
New later tracks are on. These may change out to early ones at some point if they become available.
I took it outside this morning, held it vertical, and sprayed the crap out of the inside of it, and there was a LOT in it, with automotive brake cleaner.
The stuff was streaming out of it
Once it was clear of years of ingress, the new electronics went in.
On close inspection there is absolutely ZERO H/L StuG upper in this at all. The entire upper and internal fittings is all made out of styrene sheet.
Whoever made it back in the day, I credit you with vision and determination to bring a very rare SPG to life in 16th scale
Like previous models from the same origin, the servos are glued directly onto the supporting structures, basically a one way trip
I cannot get much elevation angle on the gun, and I cant get into the casemate to replace the servo or change its linkage...............well not without significant damage which would be difficult to repair.
The servo angle change button on the V7.1 is tapped out so it has to be a leverage/throw limitation.
Having the gun elevation limited is not the worst thing in the world, its just a bit annoying.
