IBU2U Turret connector

Post by martinmckinlay »

Hi I am new to modding HL/Taigen tanks. I have an IBU2 full option board that I would like to control my (very) hybrid HL/Taigen Tiger 1 airsoft tank. The problem I have is that I don't know the pinout details (on the IBU 2 board ) for the HL turret connection and which two pins on the HL Xenon/Airsoft switch connector to connect the airsoft switch to. I have also modified the barrel elevation with a servo which I know where to connect. Is there anyone that can help with this information please. So again if anyone knows the function of each pin on the IBU2U HL turret connector Ì would love to know.

Cheers
Martin

Hi, now that I have almost completed the wiring to my tank. Tracks work, Smoker works, Lights work, Turret traverse works. I am now trying to get the barrel elevation servo, the recoil servo and the airsoft canon to operate. I don't know which pins to connect the airsoft canon to. I also don't know how to make the IBU2 board to use the servos as I have followed the ini file instructions as far as I can tell. Anyone got any ideas.

:) Good evening,
I don't understand ? that you have not found what you are looking for? I had attached the link from Rctankelectronics. Ibu supplier and on which there are quantities and types of plates, with the different connections. There are photo numbers according to plate type, and indicating the different connections !!!!

A photo of your turntable, will make it easier to identify

Hi Jofaur,
IBU Servo Ports.png

IBU HL Port.png
IBU HL Port.png (257.88 KiB) Viewed 785 times
Above are a couple of photos of the IBU2 board.
On the bottom photo of the HL port, I have successfully connected the turret traverse, the mg and the headlight.
There is no mention on the connections of Airsoft canon. The barrel connections are for elevation and recoil, neither of which I am using.
The first photo shows the servo connections on the IBU2 board. I want to use the servo outputs marked " Traverse servo " and " Recoil servo ". I have connected the servos as the connections show and get no reaction from the Traverse servo. I do not expect the recoil servo to react until I get the Airsoft canon to operate and therefor the Airsoft switch will activate and trigger both sound and recoil servo.

Hi Jofaur
Image
On the photo, the yellow highlighted 2 pin plug is power for the Airsoft canon. The red highlighted 5 pin plug with only 2 wires in it is the Airsoft switch, this plugs into the HL Xenon socket.
The problem is I get no movement on the barrel elevation servo and do not know where to connect the Airsoft canon to.

:) between the two red lines is the 8-pin plug common to all HL, Taigen, or other systems with a few variations, I am also attaching a photo of the corresponding wiring, respecting the colors of the 8-wire cord

however, I don't understand? how do you want to operate the servo on an "airsoft" system, this one having no recoil, I also attach a photo of an old HL system, explaining how it works.
