Re: LAST OF ITS KIND

Well for better or worse, the tool box is populated.
Hand tools, a jack(thanks for the inspiration Mr Blimp) and a spare tow shackle.
Its good & secure so the stuff wont fall out, but if in time I want to remove it I can tear it all off the tarp, clean it up and use it elsewhere.
Just got to weather in the box interior and out-hanging tarp then its done.
As the lid shuts its not going to be much of a feature when the tank is running, but as these things spend most of their lives as static models, I can open the lid & add to the overall effect.
Who knows, some day it might get other bits thrown into it !

Amazing work with the tools, Herman. The fully kitted-out toolbox is a piece of art!

I've been working on that! Slow going lately, I had a set turn out unsatisfactorily and needed to do some maintenance on the printer. I've also been sidetracked with relocating my hobby stuff to a new room, I'm converting the built-in wardrobe to an ersatz fume hood to set the printers up in. Should be a much better environment for them, and help keep the smell down.

Here's a set of five snug-looking crewmen, most of whom have binoculars. The photos don't really do them justice (this resin colour is hard to photograph for some reason, the camera refuses to focus on it), but the fur texture on their collars and cuffs is fantastic, and the straps and buckles on their helmets and holsters are fully detailed. They're a real credit to the sculptor!

I remembered Ian from Forgotten Weapons had a video on the PPS-42 a few months back, so I modified my PPS-43 drawings to suit. Should be more authentic for Leningrad in the middle of the siege!

I'll get them off to you later this week.

Well, here he is.....................the Comrade Commander of the allegedly last KV-2 in Russian use in WW2.
Thanks to the brilliance of Mr Raminators printing genius, out of the 5 figures I chose this guy to dress up.
Following the basics that ole 'Uncle Nightshift' recommends, a base of primer and flat black, then a glaze of a blend of XF-59 Desert Yellow and XF-55 Deck tan for his winter coat.XF-79 Linoleum Deck Brown for the webbing & holster.

Im pretty happy with the outcome, and he certainly closes off the build with stoic authority tinged with apprehension. Not perfect but near enough for this kid.
A model it may be, but I pay my genuine respects to the real man that took his machine out on its final mission back in the day......................
As I do with all the tanks I build.
