step 1:
Remove rear cover (6 screws on the rear)

Step 2:
Remove Stick assembly (4 screws on the front) Remove the ratch arm.

Step 3:
remove spring clip indicated using pliers. Pull slightly away from the potentiometer (towards you as you view the photo) and lift.
Remove Potentiometer by pulling it outwards. you should now be able to remove the stick assembly from the housing.

Step 4:
Press in the 2 smaller pins as shown in the photo.
reassemble the stick assembly back into its housing by repeating step 3 in reverse order.

Step 5:
Carefully prise out the plastic plug indicated. Do NOT lose it!

Step 6:
slide the spring retainer into the slot that you removed the plastic plug from. Replace the plastic plug. Fit the screw into the bottom of the assembly as shown, but do NOT tighten it all the way.

Step 7:
press the large pin into the hole shown (might be possible to do this from the outside inwards - Its been a while since I did this)
You need to make sure that it fits into the large arm in the kit as shown.

Step 8:
assemble the spring onto the end of the large arm. you should probably use sticky tape to secure the spring to the arm while you hook the other end on the the spring retainer you assmbled in step 6.
once you have the spring secured you may tighten the screw on top of the retainer assembly to tension the spring.

Step 9:
Reassemble the unit by repeating sets 1 and 2 in reverse.
