3D printable Cromwell in scale 1/6
3D printable Cromwell in scale 1/6
Hi guys.
3D model for 1/6 version of my Cromwell was finished two months ago (Assembly guides are ready for 80%).
Last years, i builded workshop big enough for the production of the 1/16 scale tanks.
For the 1/6 scale, my capacities are still very low.Production is slow.
Now, two months later, i have printed most of the lower hull, some wheels, all suspension arms and some nice, little details.
Going to make pictures of all that stuff soon.
Here are main body parts for the lower hull.
7 pieces on the pics, 10 pieces in total.
This is a version for the classic, small 3D printers (Ender 3, at least 220x220mm buildplate). So there is 10 pieces in total.
If you have a big printer (350x350mm at least), you can use alternate files to print this body in 5 big parts.
Whole Cromwell is designed like this. There are two versions of all big parts.
Hull is pretty massive, it may be a little bit thinner on the final vehicle (this is the prototype), but propably not .
You dont save a lot of filament, if you print this with thinner walls (about 3-4mm thinner).

Hi.I have something more to show, finally.
5,5kg and 940mm for now (12lbs, 3ft).
Its printable with the small 3D printers (220x220mm), but there are optional parts for the bigger printers (350x350mm or more).
This subassembly can be done with 11 or 20 parts. It depends on the size of your printer.Bigger is better, especially when you do a 1/6 scale models.
This actual prototype contains 20 parts.

That looks like its built to last mate.
I wish you the very best for the innovation & achievement on this and hope it sells well.
Have you ever considered doing a very early single hatch 1/16th T34/76 turret that can be used as a conversion for H/L T34/85's to earlies ?

Seriously though, looks like a winner.

Thank you.
Yes, its designed to last.Every important part is massive and reinforced with the screws.
Only complete vehicles.
Have some new parts.
I have printed 7.5kg (16,5 lbs) of parts.About a half, if my calculations was correct.
(There are wheels, suspension arms and few other parts printed, but they are not on the pictures yet)
Here are pictures of another batch of the big parts.Upper hull is almost complete.
Assembly is very easy and enjoyable.
Most of the glued parts are fixed with the screws too, so you dont need to use clamps for glueing.
Same as the lower hull, i have printed everything in the configuration for the small printers, so there is a lot of parts again.
Base frame of the lower hull: Bottom frame (engine cover base).
II forgot to take a picture of the unassembled parts.
Here with the 1/16 version: All together, with some smaller parts (on the sides of the engine cover): FULL ALBUM HERE:

No.I never thought about doing any conversion for Heng-Long, or any other brand.HERMAN BIX wrote:...Have you ever considered doing a very early single hatch 1/16th T34/76 turret that can be used as a conversion for H/L T34/85's to earlies ?

Re: 3D printable Cromwell in scale 1/6
After a long time i am here with an update.
My startup campaign was (again) unsuccessful.
Thanks to my only supporter.
You'll get a big discount, Andy.
Whereas it failed, prototype construction is slow. I have limited resources to build.
Anyway - it grows slowly but surely.
Rough construction of the hull is almost complete.
Only a few parts are missing.

more photos ...
I see I haven't been here really long.
I'm adding some older photos of the detailed parts.
